Dozens of activists demonstrated in front of the Prime Minister's Residence in Jerusalem on Monday night, calling for a halt to what they called the "live transports" of calves and sheep from Australia to force feeding and slaughter in Israel.
The demonstrators showed rare footage on a large screen that was broadcast for the first time in Australia's "60 Minutes" program, and then in the Israeli news broadcasts, revealing what was happening on the ships transporting the animals. Attorney Shira Herzano of Anonymous for Animal Rights said "The industrialization of animals over continents and seas inevitably involves the abuse of animals, and there is no way to supervise what is going on at sea."
