Diplomatic sources said Monday that after talks with the office of Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernández, it was made clear that he would not come to Israel for the torchlighting ceremony on the eve of Independence Day.
Hernández had been given the honor of lighting one of the torches but it was reported earlier that he was reconsidering the invitation. According to the sources, the Foreign Ministry regretted his not arriving and blessed the friendship between the two countries.
