About 1,500 Israelis have contributed a quarter of a million shekels to the New Israel Fund since Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu posted an attack on the fund Tuesday night.
Fund officials note that for 95 percent of the donors, this is the first time they have contributed to the fund. It's an unprecedented amount for the organization, whose average daily contributions amount to only hundreds of shekels.
