Tel Aviv-Jaffa Councilman Shlomo Maslawi, who chairs the Hatikva neighborhood committee, sent a letter to Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan on Wednesday following the release of dozens of infiltrators from the Saharonim holding facility near the Egyptian border. In the letter, Maslawi asks for patrol cars and inspectors to patrol the area and distance the infiltrators.
"We can not describe the feeling of despair that gripped us again at this announcement," Maslawi said, explaining that "the infiltrators are forbidden to reach seven cities, including Tel Aviv, but we, residents of the southern neighborhoods, have learned from experience. In a short time, we don't have the shadow of a doubt that these infiltrators will join the thousands of their brothers who flood the southern neighborhoods and sow fear among the residents."
