Germany's Foreign Ministry on Saturday expressed "concern" over the "situation in Gaza," calling for "all involved" to "avoid further escalation."
In a tweet, the Ministry also said that the Gazans' "march of return" "shows the urgency of the resumption of negotiations" between Israel and the Palestinian Authority.
The Palestinian Authority refuses to negotiate directly with Israel, without preconditions.
