During archaeological digs at the archeological site near the Temple Mount run by Dr. Eilat Mazar of the Institute of Archeology of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, dozens of bronze coins from the period of the Great Revolt were found bearing the inscription "For freedom / For the redemption of Zion".
Numerous fragments of pottery vessels, mostly jars and cooking pots, were also found in the cave.
