The U.S. administration sent a letter to China last week seeking a tariff cut on U.S. autos to help cut China’s trade surplus with the United States, the Wall Street Journal reported Sunday.
According to the report, the letter by U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer was addressed to Chinese economic overseer Liu He.
