The Haifa District Court has sentenced Muhammed Ahmad Azzam, from the Galilee Arab village of Manda, to 28 months in prison for attempting to join Islamic State terrorists in the Sinai Peninsula.
Azzam was also convicted of contact with a foreign agent and attempted membership in a terrorist organization. Upon release, he faces a year of probation.
