Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon instructed the National Council for Planning and Construction grant an exemption from having to get the necessary permits to the US Embassy building in order to enable it to open in May as planned. The embassy had been bogged down by zoning issues and had warned that the bureaucracy threatened its scheduled opening.
