Court battle brewing over latest release of terrorist body

The government informed the Supreme Court this morning that it intends to release for burial, the body of a terrorist who attacked an Israel Defense Forces unit in Jericho three weeks ago in an incident which is under investigation.

The family of Lieutenant Hadar Goldin, whose remains are being held by Hamas in Gaza, intends to oppose the release of the Jericho terrorist's body and will claim that the government and the defense establishment should ensure that the burial will not become a Hamas media festival in Judea and Samaria. The court is scheduled to hold a hearing this afternoon on a petition by the Goldin family to halt the continued release of the bodies of terrorists by the Israeli government and the defense establishment.
