Chairman Yoav Ben-Tzur of the Knesset Mount of Olives Protection Lobby told the lobby on Wednesday that desecration of graves on the Mount of Olives has been reduced by dozens of percentage points, alongside the promotion of security operations led by the Israel Police.
Against that backdrop, Ben-Tzur, chairman of the Shas party Knesset faction, said, "Now we must act to realize the vision of turning the Mount of Olives into a sought after international heritage site." He added, "We expect the Jerusalem Municipality to help us establish the visitors' center, and if we can raise funds through inter-office cooperation and establish the visitors' center, we will take significant steps toward the vision."
