The Russian Air Force's most advanced fighter jets, the Sukhoi 57, have left Syria in recent days on direct instructions from President Putin, according to Maariv.
Israel believes that the purpose of the planes' stay in the region was to send a message from the Russian government to the American administration that Russia is the leading international force in Syria. It should be noted that the plane, which is supposed to be the Russian answer to American stealth aircraft, has not yet entered operational service in Russia, and therefore the Israeli assessment is compatible with reality. The defense establishment also believes that the Russian stealth planes are not the only weapons Russia is considering during its deep involvement in what is happening in Syria.
