The official value of the shekel rose an average of .699 percent on Monday against most of the currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign-exchange list.
The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.456, down .832 percent from Friday, while the Euro declined .181 percent to 4.2509 shekels. The pound sterling was set at 4.7729 shekels, down 1.39 percent. The Australian dollar fell 1.573 percent to NIS 2.6776 and its Canadian counterpart was fixed at NIS 2.6777, down 1.916 percent. The only currency going up was the Japanese yen, up .596 percent, with 100 yen buying 3.2728 shekels.
