President Reuven Rivlin has congratulated Israeli high-tech entrepreneur Gil Shwed for winning the Israel Prize as a Lifetime Achievement Award in the field of technology.
Rivlin said, "When Gil Shwed was discharged from the army, he did not dream of an exit (sellout) - with Shlomo Kramer and Marius Nacht he founded [the] Check Point [information technology security company], the flagship of Israeli high tech, a company whose innovation and leadership represents us proudly in the world and remains in Israeli hands. Dear Gil, there's nobody more worthy of being the first Israel Prize laureate for high-tech."
