UNRWA head Chris Gunness said that the agency would hold a fundraising conference in Rome to make up for the budget shortfall caused by US cuts, the Associated Press reported.
The conference would be hosted by Egypt, Jordan, and Sweden. "The purpose of the conference is to actively support a collective response by the international community to protect the rights and dignity of Palestine refugees," said Gunness.
