A ceremony marking the change in leaders was held today at the Coordination and Liaison Administration for Gaza at the Unit for the Coordination of Government Activities in the Territories. Colonel Iyad Sarhan was appointed head of the administration, succeeding Colonel Fares Attila, who has served in the position for the last three and a half years since the Protective Edge counterterror operation.
Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories, Major General Yoav Mordechai, said at the ceremony, "We continually remember Lieutenant Hadar Goldin and First Sergeant Oron Shaul Zacharam of blessed memory, and the [living] Israeli citizens, who are held by Hamas, and we know that until the sons return to their borders (paraphrasing Jeremiah 31:16), Gaza's situation will not be rehabilitated ... Gaza will bear the price."
