Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered a daily cease-fire in East Ghoutta on the outskirts of Damascus, starting tomorrow.
Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said the truce will take place between 09:00 and 14:00 local time, in order to provide a "humanitarian corridor" that will allow civilians to evacuate. The Russian announcement came almost two days after the United Nations voted for a cease-fire that was not observed, a week after hundreds were killed in government bombardment of the area.
