Professor Eitan Avitzur of the Department of Music at Bar Ilan University was laid to rest yesterday in Jerusalem. He died suddenly of heart failure on Saturday, at the age of 76.
Prof. Avitzur was a conductor and lecturer in music and most of his career as a lecturer was at Bar Ilan, where he taught for 38 years until retiring. He studied composition and composition at the Jerusalem Academy of Music, and while a student he was appointed conductor of the Hebrew University Orchestra.
