The full military analysis of the recent incident in which an Iranian drone was shot down over Israel and an Israeli jet was shot down returning from a reprisal raid confirms an earlier report that the crew of the F-16 made a professional mistake in that they did not protect themselves as required. Specificly, their actions did not match the order of priorities required by the missile threat their plane was in.
The warning systems in the aircraft acted as required and provided timely warning information. Other planes defended themselves against enemy missiles. Air Force Commander Amikam Norkin said he expected the pilot to return to full activity.
