Ministers endorse tax breaks for buyers of second apartments

The Ministerial Committee on Legislation has endorsed a bill by Member of Knesset Uri Meklev (United Torah Judaism) seeking to exempt citizens from paying taxes on a second apartment - as long as the construction of the first apartment purchased as part of a purchase group was not completed.

According to Maklev, this bill will immediately save thousands of apartment buyers from paying the purchase tax in the framework of a stalled purchasing group, who are interested in purchasing other apartments in order to avoid watching their money go down the drain by paying rent.
