Member of Knesset Bezalel Smotrich (Jewish Home) has attacked Police Commissioner Roni Alsheikh's decision to give a television interview, during which Alsheikh criticized the conduct of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu.
Addressing Alshich during a hearing of the Knesset Interior Committee, Smotrich said, "In my eyes, the interview you gave to "Uvda" is unacceptable. You took the post and took upon yourself the proper rules of conduct. As far as I'm concerned, this interview was over in its first minute." Smotrich stressed, "Mr. Commissioner, you don't grades to a prime minister in a democracy. This interview was a serious car accident from start to finish."
