Police Commissioner Roni Alsheikh said on Tuesday morning that the subject of restrictions on the Jews on the Temple Mount is a decision of the government. Asked about it while speaking to the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, he added, "If the government wants Jews to pray on the Temple Mount, we will do our job to protect them."

Regarding investigations involving Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, Alsheikh said, "We do not want to be on the left side of the map or on the right, we want to be on the side of the law, this is the only way to maintain professionalism and that's the right way."
