Regional Cooperation Minister Tzachi Hanegbi expressed optimism, Monday evening, that Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu won't be tried for corruption. He explained to Arutz Sheva, "The public already understands that a trial against the prime minister when the key witness is a candidate from the opposition is ridiculous and outrageous."
According to Hanegbi, who was cleared of corruption charges but found guilty of perjury in 2010, the investigations conducted by the police are legitimate, but "What is accompanying the investigation is a media campaign fueled by haters of the right, haters of the Likud and Netanyahu haters who understand that it is impossible to topple the right without external processes. They fear a future confrontation at the ballot box and they fan the flames. It will not work, the polls show that the public supports the national camp."
