Ministers normalize status of Ethiopian Jewish clergy

The Ministerial Committee for the Integration of Israeli-Ethiopian Citizens, headed by Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, has approved a plan which includes historical recognition of the kessim as spiritual leaders for Ethiopian Jews and thus normalizes their status as part of the religious services system.
