The appeals court which deals with matters of immigration and entry into Israel has ruled that the asylum application of an Eritrean national who had deserted from military service in his country should be accepted and that he be allowed to appeal the decision of the Population and Immigration Authority in his case.
The ruling stated that "there is a well-founded fear of persecution because of the political opinion attributed to him by his country's authorities as a result of his deserting."
