Transportation Minister Yisrael Katz has inaugurated a new passenger terminal at the Savidor central railroad station in Tel Aviv. The new northern terminal, which covers more than 1,000 square meters, will connect the train station to the Modai bridge and will improve the flow of passengers at the busy station. It will also provide more convenient access to the station and a direct exit to the Ramat Gan Diamond Exchange and the North Tel Aviv neighborhoods.
Special emphasis is being placed on the accessibility of passengers with special disabilities, with the descent to the tracks possible by means of an escalator or elevator. In the terminal, automatic ticket stands have been set up alongside positions staffed by cashiers. In addition, security and observation posts were upgraded at the entrance to the station, in order to facilitate easier and quicker entry into the station.
