The Appointments Committee for Heads of Foreign Ministry Representations has elected Amir Weissbrod to be Israel's ambassador in Amman. He succeeds Ambassador Einat Schlain under conditions set forth by Jordan following the killing of a Jordanian who attacked an embassy security guard last July, in which the guard's shots also killed an innocent bystander.
