MK Yaakov Asher (UTJ) accused Yesh Atid Chairman Yair Lapid of forcing Yaakov Peri to resign in order to further Lapid's political aspirations. "Lapid again proved that he is a dictator whose only goal is to gather more votes for his party, and for that reason, he does not hesitate time and time again to create a rift among the people, and even sacrificed his friend on the altar of his political aspirations," said Asher.
Peri resigned on Wednesday morning over fallout resulting from an expose claiming that he handed over sensitive intel to Aryeh Deri when he ran the Shin Bet security agency.
