Los Angeles Times to be sold to for $500 million

Tronc Inc. has agreed to sell the Los Angeles Times to California-based businessman Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong for $500 million. The venerable newspaper has been rocked by infighting and a volatile newsroom and its Chief Editor Lewis D'vorkin was fired last week.
