Weather permitting, people in Israel will be able to see a partial lunar eclipse between 5:14 and 6:08 pm on Tuesday. The eclipse will be total in Australia and southeastern Asia.
The moon will be about 40,000 kilometers or 26,000 miles from earth, making it look seven percent brighter and 14 percent bigger than usual until it sets around 5:19 Wednesday morning. It's also a "blue moon", the second full moon of January with no effect on the color. There will be another blue moon in March and a total eclipse of the moon on July 27th. The next "super moon" will be next year.
