The Knesset delegation to the European Parliament led by MK Aliza Lavie is working to prevent an anti-Israel resolution which "expresses regret" at the declaration by US president Trump that he recognizes Jerusalem as Israel's capital and protests Israeli construction in "occupied territories", including Eastern Jerusalem.
Lavie said that "it is very disconcerting that the European institutions insist on continuing with the same formula tried time and time again in the past: Condemning Israel and encouraging the Palestinians to petition international forums instead of making direct negotiations."
