In an Arutz Sheva interview, Science Minister Ofir Akunis referred to US vice president Mike Pence's speech as "the most Zionist speech ever given by a guest to the Knesset plenum" and "the high point of US-Israeli relations since 1948, not just because of the announcement about the transfer of the embassy but because of the context and the historical connection between the Jewish nation and the state of Israel made so admirably by the vice president."
Akunis added that the Trump administration is a " the most sympathetic to Israel, a great miracle which happened to the Jewish nation."
