The Tourism Ministry announced on Monday that more than $114 million has been injected into the economy so far this winter from tourists landing in Eilat, thanks an incentive program in which the ministry offers airlines €45 for every tourist arriving in Ovdah on direct flights, with the Eilat Hotels Association providing another €15.

Minister of Tourism Yariv Levin said, "Incoming tourism to Eilat is breaking all records and we are witnessing an extraordinary momentum of airlines opening new direct routes into the resort. Ministry figures going back to October show a doubling of arrivals at Ovdah.
