Two young men in their late twenties have been hospitalized at Tel Aviv's Ichilov Hospital in a coma with epileptic incidents, following the voluntary consumption of GHB - known as the "date rape" drug. In both cases there was also excessive alcohol consumption.
Pleading with people to be careful, Dr. Firas Fahoum, Director of Epilepsy and EEG Service in the hospital's Neurology Divison, warns: "The [date] rape drug is a dangerous drug that can lead to irreversible damage and death. We have managed to save these two young men but only over time will we know whether or not irreversible damage has been done to their nervous systems."
