'Why can't women use a Torah scroll at Western Wall?'

The Supreme Court is discussing the Western Wall arrangement Sunday in a broad panel of seven judges.

Some petitions called for the enforcement of the arrangement which would upgrade the southern Western Wall and provide a similar plaza there for alternative forms of worship, while others called for the abolition of the arrangement due to constitutional issues with it.

During the hearing women's prayers at the wall were discussed. Chief Justice Esther Hayut asked why Torah scrolls from inside the Western Wall could not be brought to women, to which the reply was that they are in the men's section.
