Hotovely trying to help Israeli singer who was denied visa to U.S.

Deputy Foreign Minister Tzipi Hotovely on Friday asked the Foreign Ministry's Consular Department to examine why the U.S. Embassy refused to approve a visa for singer Amir Benayoun to attend the International Holocaust Remembrance Day ceremony in two weeks at the UN headquarters in New York.

Benayoun, along with singers Miri Mesika and David D’Or, is to sing “The Last Survivor,” a 2014 song composed by Benayoun, at a UN ceremony on January 27 in honor of International Holocaust Remembrance Day.
