The Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee discussed the proposed law to offset monies due to the PA because of its support of terror. The law was proposed by MK Elazar Stern(Yesh Atid).
Committee chairman Avi Dichter(Likud) criticized the present version of the law as it allows flexibility in offsetting PA funds, as opposed to the law's rationale which should require such offsetting to be automatic.
"The PA reached its financial state by transferring 1.2 billion NIS -7% of its budget - to terrorists, and this budgetary hole cannot be Israel's problem," Dichter said.
