A indictment against a resident of Maale Rechavam, stemming from the May 2014 eviction of people from eight buildings in the Judean Jewish community has been retracted due to a series of police mistakes and failures.
The defendant had been indicted for interfering with a policeman in the performance of his duties as one of a number of young people and families who barricaded themselves in one of the buildings. Among the failures and errors in the conduct of the police, it turned out that the order under which the police acted was not in effect until the day before the evacuation and renewed only 10 days later.
