The Yesh Atid faction petitioned the Supreme Court against the Recommendations Law, drawing criticism from the political establishment and from legal experts.
Prof. Aviad Hacohen, Dean of the Sha'arei Mishpat Academic College, stated that this cheapens the Knesset as MK's feel that instead of arguing their position in the Knesset they can turn to the courts.
Other experts also criticized the petition to the courts, stating that the work of a parliamentarian is to legislate and to fight legislation they oppose in the Knesset but not in the courts.
