According to data from the Beterem child-safety organization, 135 children were killed in 2017, as a result of accidents on the roads, in the house, in the yard and in leisure. That compares to 119 in 2016.

Beterem CEO Orly Silvinger said, "This is not a divine decree. Children can be saved through knowledge and awareness and safe behavior. The government of Israel is committed to implementing the National Child Safety Plan approved this year, thereby reducing the number of children injured by accidents."
