MK Oren Hazan (Likud) said that he will not attempt to replace MK David Bitan (Likud) as coalition chairman after Bitan resigned earlier on Wednesday to deal with the police investigation against him.

"As deputy coalition chairman, I am supposed to be the one who now enters the shoes of coalition chairman - but this is not the time for the role: I give up the job and wish my friend David Bitan success in clearing his name," Hazan wrote on Twitter.
