After an internal police investigation found that the shooting of an Arab rioter in Qusra earlier this month was self-defense, MK Bezal Smotrich said that the police had rendered the family defenseless against Arabs seeking revenge.

"In the meantime, the gun was confiscated from one of the parents, who serves as a reserve battalion commander, and has not yet been returned to him by the police," he tweeted. "He and his family have been defenseless for a month, despite receiving intelligence warnings about intentions to attack him in retaliation for the killing of the Arab terrorist."

In the incident, an Arab attempted to children on a bar mitzvah hike. The accompanying parents, who were acting lawfully as armed escorts, shot at the Arab terrorists, killing one of them.
