The spokesman for the Histadrut published a statement in response to the meeting of the prime minister and three ministers with the director of Teva.

The spokesman said that "the Israeli government cannot give in to the demands of the director of Teva and respond weakly. The Histadrut will continue to fight to reduce the number of layoffs.

"The government must precipitate legislation protecting the status of workers and connect between taxation and investment and employment in Israel. Teva's directors must do some soul-searching."
