Chairman Moshe Gafni of the Knesset Finance Committee said on Tuesday, "If Teva's management cooperates, we will find every loophole in the law in order to increase the aid that will be given to it." Speaking at a committee hearing on finding a way to reduce the scope of recently-announced layoffs and to remove the company from its financial crisis, he added, "We are not interested in getting excited, but in finding solutions."

A senior Teva deputy CEO said, "At stake - saving Teva. Unfortunately, there is no possibility of leaving the plant in Jerusalem. The prices of its products are eroding."
