Dozens of people took part, Sunday evening, in the traditional lighting of the Hanukkah candles at the Tapuach Junction in Samaria, led by the Shomron Regional Council and volunteers from the Pinah Hama (Warm Corner) for Soldiers at the junction, which was established on Sukkot and began operating about a month ago.

The event opened with a march from Kfar Tapuach to the junction, with the participation of civilian and military leaders and rabbis. Chairman Yossi Dagan of the Shomron (Samaria) Regional Council said, "The lighting of the central candles in Samaria, at the Tapuach junction, a central junction for soldiers and civilians that has suffered quite a few attacks, symbolizes the steadfastness of the citizens and the soldiers in light of the attempts to extinguish the light and keep the Jewish people out of the heart of their country. In response, we light the light tonight. The light of heroism, power, and love for this land."
