Netanyahu: US vice president a 'great friend of Israel'

Prime Minister Netanyahu said at the cabinet meeting that "we will warmly welcome US vice-president Mike Pence this week, he is a great friend of Israel and Jerusalem.

"I wish to express once again my appreciation of the determination and leadership of US president Trump and his administration in defending the truth of Israel and the resoluteness with which they reject attempts to use the UN as a stage to attack Israel. We will receive him with a warm welcome here and in the Knesset."

Netanyahu also referred to the Teva layoffs and said that "I will meet this week with the Finance Minister, the Economics Minister and the director-general of Teva. I spoke with him last week and said that the goal is first to reduce the harm to the workers. Secondly  we must do all we can to prevent the closure of factories in Jerusalem and thirdly we must ensure that Teva stays in Israel."
