The Jerusalem-based Hitorerut movement expressed its deep sorrow at the death of Rabbi Shteinman.
"Rabbi Shteinman was one of the great spiritual leaders of our generation, who led with humility and boldness huge communities. His halakhic legacy and greatness in Torah which allowed many in the haredi community to integrate will accompany the people of Israel for many more years.
"We send our condolences to his family, students and followers."
