Ministerial committee approves Shabbat Law

The Ministerial Committee on Legislation has approved a government proposal sponsored by Labor and Social Services Minister Haim Katz, allowing the Labor and Social Services Minister to take into account worker requirements, Jewish tradition, and alternative solutions when considering granting work permits for Shabbat work. The proposed amendment may be submitted to the Knesset in the coming week.
