Two corresponding bills initiated by Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked were passed in the Ministerial Legislative Committee Sunday.
The first bill states that the government will be allowed to authorize the cabinet, with the prime minister's approval, to initiate a military campaign which would in all probability lead to war.
The second bill empowers the cabinet to use its authority for such action, even though it was not included in its statutory powers until now.
