Iranian lawmaker: Islamic states should cut ties with U.S.

The Deputy Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Ali Motahhari, on Saturday blasted the United States over its decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital, and called on Islamic states to sever ties with the U.S. in response.

Motahhari told the Iranian Fars news agency that the decision by U.S. President Donald Trump has backfired, as it has brought Muslim countries closer to each other over the Palestinian issue. He added the move has presented an opportunity for the Muslim world to stand united and strong.
